Title: Perchance to Dream
Genre: Drabble
Pairing: Robin/Marian
Word count: 127
Notes: inspiration provided by vhari (who I saw tonight! ^_^)  - theme word was 'dawn'. More to come, promise. Just that I saw the Sex and The City movie today and was too hyped up afterwards to write anything more than this coherantly. XP

She’s been up all night – though she’s used to that. The clawing exhaustion in her veins is an old friend, one that murmurs comfortingly that she has done what is right. It satisfies her.

 

The last stars of the night are fading, the dark sky melting against creeping gold. Dawn promises little rest and greater struggle than dusk – but for a moment, it is good to see natural beauty in a world saturated by truly unnatural ugliness.

 

And there, atop the slope that leads down into Knighton, awaits a figure dosing in the grass, soft as salvation. Robin has fallen asleep waiting for her again, though he stirs when she pushes his hair from his face.

Just for now, they lay in the grass, and dream a while.
