Turned to Drink

He finds Allan, drunk, being sick outside the Inn, without his money.

“I keep telling you that you shouldn’t gamble,” Will chastises, exasperated, as he stands over the other outlaw.
Allan wipes his mouth, “what else am I gonna do with my money? Buy you a pretty dress?”
Will considers quite seriously for a moment. “I wouldn’t mind,” he offers, after some thought.

Allan pauses, then tips his head back and laughs, staggering a little.

 Will can’t help but smile back, taking his companion’s shoulders to lead him away.

“You’d look alright in a dress, mind,” Allan remarks, grinning foolishly, “Pretty boy that you are.”
“I was joking,” Will replies, evenly.
“Sure,” Allan giggles – and when he kisses him, later that night, Will can still taste the alcohol curling darkly on his tongue, and doesn’t care.

Yay for the loveliness. You write them so well together, especially Allan. I like your Will too, a bit more assertive than I ever manage to get him! This really made me smile, great work :- )

Thanks! I find it hard to write Will too. But I think the key is remembering that Will isn't shy - he's quiet. When it counts, and when the louder members of the gang are incapacitated, he wont be afraid to step up. So he IS ascertive, he just doesn't need to make that fact obvious until it's ind of necissary (like when a certain ex-con is drunk and has lost all his money and needs a patient carpenter to take him home and kiss him better. -_^)
