Is it weird that thismajor Robin Hood series three spoiler (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/article1315696.ece) really just... isn't bothering me?

I think it's official: I've disengaged. Other than to think 'man... it used to be so good...' and a slight, bitter sting, really, I feel nothing.

Damn it, this time last year I would have been BOUNCING OFF THE CEILING upon here this kind of news. How does a fandom that I used to care about so much just flip over on its fans to the extent that I suddenly am THAT uninterested?

Oh yeah - 'cause the show died with Marian and frankly anything else they do to it is just repeatedly stabbing the corpse in my book...

*wipes forehead* I'm so relieved I'm not the only one.

I saw the news and just shrugged it off- whatever. It's...yeah, like you said, I think I've disengaged from the show as well.

I hope the BBC learns from this, though I don't think they will.

Amen sister.

I'm completely disengaged from the RH fandom now. It's sad, but really, what is there to get excited about after they killed the heart of the show?

Have to say that I do feel sorry for the cast members that are left though. That's got to be tough to left on a show when it's lost its direction and its fan base.

... I miss Marian. :( God, on holiday we went to a Robin Hood themed bar and they had a special Maid Marian cocktail and it just depressed me.

Huh. Arg. I'm not even sure how to react to this news.

Are we supposed to be upset or surprised or something? It's like: *Spoiler alert* Sauron is defeated! Well... OBVIOUSLY. Even with how much the BBC has been straying from the legend, I don't think they'd go so far as to actually have 'evil' win. Of course the Sheriff will be dying.

I think the fact that one of my main ships is now Allan/Marian, and that I got into them AFTER Marian died, is a testament to how much I am in denial. I'm pretty sure my world is going to come crashing down when S3 starts and I'll have to face reality.

Don't worry, I'm the same. The minute i heard this news i wondered what the big deal was, the news didn't seem to shock or concern me in the slightest. I feel quite disengaged to the show now - i suppose quite a few have. If the communities i've joined about RH weren't so friendly, i don't think I'd have stuck with the show.
I loved Marian, and after the events from the S1 and S2 finales, this news really doesn't faze me. I wish the BBC were better at keeping their plots a secret too, they're not very good at that.

I agree with everyone else. No crap the Sheriff is going to be defeated. But who really cares?

I still think that it would have been better for the show to kill off the Sheriff at the end of S2. Have Marian reveal her love for Robin, and then watch as Guy really delves into being seriously evil in S3 knowing that Marian is out in the woods with Robin.

But I've given up too. It's annoying. Because I want to like it and can't.

TV taught me how to feel, now real life has no appeal

Oh no!
